The Paisley Raye Aster Dress
“A popover swing dress with back cut out detail, pockets, and bishop sleeves.”
Oh, I feel like I could gush forever about this gorgeous dress!
So… I want to explain my photographs here first. It has been cold AF here in Virginia Beach, so I really didn’t want to undress from all my layers and freeze my ass off for some photos. I decided, eh what the hell, my bedroom is clean and most importantly warm, lets take pictures in here! I am totally a professional photographer…. NOT! I have a tripod for my Facebook live videos and my Samsung phone. I literally set my camera app on a timer with a 3 shot burst. So I would push the button, run to my position (sometimes I didn’t make it in time) strike a pose “click” , move a little “Click” make a random face… “Click” and then keep repeating the process. I am a one man show y’all! Some of these turned out way more boudoir feel than I had planned but I am just gonna roll with it.
Okay, back to this gorgeous Paisley Raye Aster dress!
I have found the Paisley Raye sizing chart to be extremely accurate! Yay! I am a size 10/12 and that puts me in a Large for Paisley Raye clothing. The larges have fit great! The Aster Dress is a knee length, pull over (no zipper or buttons), swing dress (flowy skirt), with a back cut out detail, pockets and bishop sleeves, ( A long sleeve, fuller at the bottom than the top, and gathered into a cuff).
This dress is double layered except for the sleeves. It’s really well made with attention paid to the details, (what I expect from clothing made in the USA). For example, the seams on the two layers face each other… so you won’t have any rough sides facing your body or rubbing your skin. For not having a defined waist, this dress hangs amazingly well on me. With a large chest, I am used to the “tent effect,” and that typically isn’t very flattering on my body shape. This dress has a beautiful feminine silhouette and flow. It actually covers a lot of skin and is conservative enough for the office or tea with your grandmother, yet I would still say it’s sexy enough for a night out with your man.
I think this fabric is light enough for comfortable wear in the Summer time, obviously I have yet to test this out. I plan to wear it a lot for outdoor events as I prefer to keep my sleeve tattoo protected from the sun, and this dress practically covers the entire thing! Score!
The Paisley Raye Aster dress is part of my initial inventory that I should be receiving shortly. This dress costs $60 and I would compare it to the quality of dresses I have found at Nordstrom and White House Black Market that are double the price.
